Where in Africa

We are at present carrying out projects in Arusha, Tanzania, East Africa. Tanzania is the largest East African country in comparison to Kenya and Uganda. In 2002 the estimated population was thirty three million 51% being women and approx 46% being under the age of fifteen. 50% of the population are living below the poverty line.

Our present project started in May 2006 when we managed to rent a property on the outskirts of Arusha. The property consists of a four bed roomed house, which will sleep up to twenty children and three babies, within a secure walled garden.  Lesley (see who we are) went out to arrange a complete refurbishment of the property in September 06 returning in October to England, having carried out 99% of the work.

Roy and Lesley along with Mike and Carol Newbury (two of our trustees) travelled out at Christmas 2006 to complete the project. 

Then orphanage is now open and the first 8 children are settling in well. The youngest being 3 years old, the eldest is 14. We will be able to provide a home for more children as funds become available.
